Grant Mills Wood acted as Consultant Property Surveyor and representative of the Landlord in the reconstruction of this large warehouse unit of almost 200,000 sq ft in Enfield, North London, which was burnt down in the London riots of summer 2011.

Responsibilities included amongst others; appointing a team of construction consultants, negotiating with the insurers and their loss adjustors, negotiating with the tenant and their consultants, resolving planning issues including dialogue with the Environment Agency, negotiating a development agreement with Sony the Tenant to facilitate the provision of the extensive tenant fit-out in the main contract to reduce overall costs and hasten the delivery of the completed building.

GMW also represented the Landlord in resolving the rent review due under the existing lease. 

Building work was completed with a delivery time frame of 6 months from starting on site and 12 months from the date of the fire. David Cameron was the guest of honour at the re-opening ceremony.
